DVINITY Developer Outlines Tokenomics Rework Proposal Featuring 'Protocol Battery'

A developer behind the Internet Computer gaming platform DVINITY has presented a forum proposal to overhaul the project's economic model. The proposed system raises game return-to-player rates to 97% while using platform revenue to fund stakers, protocol-owned assets, and activity-based mining buybacks.

A developer behind DVINITY, an on-chain gaming application built on the Internet Computer (ICP), has posted a discussion proposal on the ICP Developer Forum detailing a potential overhaul of the project's tokenomics architecture.

DVINITY currently operates on a model featuring an estimated 95% return-to-player (RTP) rate, with 3% of wager volume directed to token stakers and 2% to the project treasury. Under the new proposal, target RTP would increase to approximately 97%. The remaining expected 3% of wager volume would be split into explicit allocations: 1% to DVINITY stakers, 0.5% to ongoing development, 0.5% for market buybacks of DVINITY tokens, 0.5% for protocol-owned ICP compounding, and roughly 0.5% as expected backing growth subject to game variance.

The core of the proposed model introduces a concept termed the "Protocol Battery," designed to establish a counter-cyclical economic reserve. Rather than relying on continuous token minting or using buybacks purely for price support, platform revenue generated in ICP would be used to purchase DVINITY tokens from the market. These bought-back tokens would fund a reserve for an activity-based reward system known as Devotion mining, where active players compete for token emissions.

According to the forum post, the mechanism is intended to accumulate resources during lower-activity periods and deploy incentives when user activity increases. The developer noted that all proposed allocation percentages are non-binding initial examples and requested community feedback on economic sustainability, mining mechanics, potential attack vectors, and protocol-owned neuron structures.
